Faith In Action
Here at Cowan Fellowship Church, we believe in putting our faith into action. We are called by God to help others, especially those who cannot help themselves. We only need to look to Jesus for an example of caring for the poor, the widows, the orphans, and those who are unable to care for themselves. Jesus spent time with people who were shunned by society. Jesus loves everyone, and all people are worthy of our time.
Right here in our community of Cowan, there are many who need time and attention. Drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness, depression, abuse, financial issues, loneliness, hunger, crime, and other issues effect the people of this community. These issues cannot be overlooked or dismissed. Someone needs to address them, and that someone is us.
Before we can make a difference, we have to be educated and trained. We need to see the needs and pray for our community. We cannot help if we do not have the resources and the tools. That's what we are beginning to do.
It all starts with a community meeting on June 9th at 6:00 here at Cowan Fellowship. Allen Burnette will be leading us in how to be educated and trained and steps for setting up some meetings (such as AA and NA) in our community. This is a time to network with those who are in recovery, have training, want training, can teach classes, can offer a facility for events, and want to make a difference in the lives of Cowan residents.
Please join us and invite others who may want to be a part of this.
