Reverend Gray is a local licensed pastor and preached at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro for two years, before coming to serve Cowan Fellowship Church in August 2020.

Cynthia graduated from Franklin County High School and received a degree in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University.  Mrs. Gray has taught music in the public and private schools in Tennessee and Florida, including teaching music at Cowan and Sewanee Elementary Schools.  She also plays violin and sings in local concerts and shows.

Cynthia sees church life as very important and has been involved all her life, whether as preacher, music minister, teacher, trustee, children’s director, or VBS leader.  Some focuses have been outreach, mission work, and women’s and children’s ministries.

Cynthia lives in Tullahoma (the Franklin County part) with her husband Jacob, foster daughter Malia,  and two cats.  Malia is a senior at Tullahoma High School.  Jacob works at Jack Daniel's as a tour guide.  Mrs. Gray is currently taking classes at Candler School of Theology at Emory in Atlanta, as well as online classes through the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.

Cowan Fellowship Church is a joint congregation of United Methodists and Presbyterians.  The church was founded in 1962 when the Cowan Methodist and Cowan Presbyterian Churches united.  Situated between "the mountain" - Sewanee, the University of the South and Monteagle - and the rest of Franklin County to the west, the church has always found its mission as a junction between "mountain and valley."
